Lizzy smiled,”Well let’s get to it! Oh would you like any refreshments or something to snack on?”she asked happily. Lizzy couldn’t wait to get her new dress(es). It was odd seeing Ms.Nina this way her eyes every now and then drifted to her stomach. She wanted to know more but it was already rude that she asked. Elizabeth wanted to prove she was mature. Lizzy twisted her hair and mouthed,’Don’t tell mother.’ she winked at her.

“I am quite fine, I had something before I arrived here.” She smiled at the young girl, “But thank you for asking.” She was a bit nervous, as this was her first job for a while and she wondered if she could get her muse going. She smiled still, placing her things down; “Is there something particular you would like?” 

She looked around the room, “I mean, for your wardrobe this season.”

Lizzy looked out her window of her room to see Nina. Paula drilled the last of her hair and Lizzy ran down her stairs,”Ms.Hopkins!”Lizzy shouted to her. She loved it when Nina made her dresses. They were elegant and was to her likings. Lizzy observed her, something was different,”Forgive me for saying Ms.Hopkins but are you,”she began to whisper,”Going to have a child?” That came out entirely wrong.

Nina smiled at the young girl, patting her belly as she nodded; “Yes, Miss Elizabeth, I am indeed going to have a child. A little girl to be exact.” She didn’t want to talk about it more than she should, seeing as she was a young girl she felt she was a little too young to be caught up in the scandal that she herself found herself in. Who was the father? No one knew still, and she would rather keep it that way.

“It is lovely to see you!” She exclaimed suddenly, changing the subject; “I am excited to see what I can come up with today!”

Nina sighed as she got out of the carriage, she had been called to the Middlefords as it was time for Elizabeth to receive a new wardrobe. Of course she had never minded visiting the Middlefords, she got along quite well with Frances and she adored Elizabeth a lot. Who wouldn’t? The girl has definitely got charm, and she can always think up the cutest designs for the young girl.

It was just harder to go around with her now grown belly, the looks she received was what she expected; but it didn’t make it that much easier. She was grateful they still accepted her as their tailor, and she was quite excited to think up a new design for this next season.

She wondered to herself as she approached the door, it’s been a couple of months since she last saw them. 

I don’t fit into my clothes anymore.

“I wish getting fat didn’t come with the pregnancy….”
